This 8-week online class runs from Oct. 15 - Dec. 10, 2012 and offers a convenient way to help you get started with and/or refresh your understanding of the role of the media specialist in the schools, libraries, and other contexts. It will also help those who have yet to take the endorsement exam to prepare to successfully pass it to receive the State of Florida Media Specialist endorsement.
This modularized online course is intended to help those wishing to take the Ed Media Endorsement Exam and those new to their position and who want to learn more about their role in the school. This course will cover topics like organization, change management, introduction on the role of the media center in the school, ordering materials, as well as some technology integration/instructional resource ideas.
Available 24/7, the program is convenient and accessible anywhere you have computer access. Each class consists of some reading assignments, writing assignments on various topics, creating of 5-10 slide PowerPoints and/or other short assignments. In addition, you'll obtain feedback from the instructor, an expert in the field, helping you strengthen specific skill sets.
